The Tin Ring
The Forge is proud to produce the acclaimed theatre performance The Tin Ring. The Tin Ring has demonstrated through the power of its theatrical language and its physical flexibility that it can be presented in a range of venues, forums and contexts. In addition to its educational links to arts and humanities, it resonates with important agendas regarding human rights, human resilience and wellbeing, migration, refugee and asylum, historical reflection and peace building.
The Tin Ring tells the story of Zdenka Fantlová, who was born in Czechoslovakia. She was 17 when the war began and the ring of the title was given to her by her first love, Arno. Zdenka kept it with her as a symbol of truth and hope from Terezin to Bergen-Belsen. The play has been performed in 13 countries including America, India, Cambodia, Australia and across Europe. It has toured widely in the UK including a week residency at the Southbank Centre in London. It can be delivered as part of a Suitcase of Survival residency.
